Copilot or Claude: which AI assistant suits your team?

BudgetAI.nl editorial team · 2026-10-28 · 5 min

Copilot suits teams who spend their day in Microsoft 365 and have a Copilot licence; Claude suits teams who want a standalone AI assistant for text, documents and analysis. We offer an online Kickstart for both at €595 per group.

Below we set out the differences in use, without claiming one is better than the other.

When should you choose Copilot?

Copilot is built into the Microsoft 365 apps many teams already use. If your organisation has Copilot licences, it makes sense to start there. You work directly in your own emails, documents and meetings.

When should you choose Claude?

Claude is used as a standalone assistant. That's handy if your team writes a lot, creates documents or needs summaries, independent of specific office software. In projects you can set custom instructions so Claude follows your style.

What questions should you ask yourself?

  1. Does my organisation have Microsoft 365 Copilot licences?
  2. Does my team mainly work in Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams?
  3. Or does my team mainly write and analyse standalone texts and documents?
  4. Which tool is permitted in our organisation?
  5. Do I want everyone to use the same tool?

Can you use both?

Yes. Some teams use Copilot inside Microsoft 365 and Claude for writing. Our prompt packs work in both, so your team can use the same prompts in either tool. All training and prices are on the prices page.
